RUSSIA

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, the stocks of sugar in wholesale trade decreased to 75528.62 tons in August 2017 (-12.04% compared to the previous month, + 46.24% for 12 months and -27.92% since the beginning of the year).

According to Rosstat, the sale of sugar by large and medium-sized wholesale organizations has reached 243,176 tons in August 2017 (+ 122.8% against the previous month and + 22.26% against August last year).

Russia may produce 6.5 million tons of white sugar this season and bring its exports to 700,000 tons, the Minister of Agriculture Tkachev said.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of September 28, 2017, sugar beet was harvested from the area of 471.3 thousand hectares or 40% of the crop acreage (in 2016 - 389.2 thousand hectares).

UKRAINE

According to the results of 2016/2017 MY, Sri Lanka has imported 112.2 thousand tons of Ukrainian sugar for $ 56.7 million, according to "Ukrtsukor". The list of top three leaders (by import) include Georgia and Turkey, which imported 47.9 thousand tons and 42.5 thousand tons of sugar, respectively.

ARMENIA

In August 2017 Armenia imported 309 tons of sugar and raw sugar (HS code 1701), 35 tons of other sugars (HS code 1702) and 546.07 tons of molasses (HS code 1703), the National Statistical Committee reports.
