RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, by September 8, 2017, sugar beet was harvested in Russia from an area of 184.5 thousand hectares or 15.4% of total area sown (in 2016 – 152.9 thousand hectares).

The competitive administrator of OJSC "Girey Kuban Sugar" (Krasnodar region) informs that the second auction to sell the property of OJSC "Girey Kuban sugar" (warehouse building) failed to take place due to the fact that one application was forwarded by one of “Girey-Sakhar” participant.

UKRAINE

According to Gosstat, sugar prices from manufacturers declined by 0.2% in August 2017, and in annual terms (August 2017 by August 2016) - increased by 17.8%. In August 2017, consumer sugar prices in the country increased by 0.2%, on an annualized basis (August 2017 by August 2016) - by 14.6%.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development postponed the date of consideration of the issue of granting a $ 25 million loan for the development of infrastructure to the agro-industrial holding Astarta from October 4 to 18, and has also revised the status of project readiness from a "final review" for the "concept review".

KYRGYZSTAN

According to the Ministry of Economy, in the markets of Bishkek the average retail price for granulated sugar was 48-55 soms per 1 kg from August 24 to September 7, 2017 (39.69-45.48 rubles/kg at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russia) and, compared to previous week, prices fell by 5 soms.

The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKFR) has increased the financing limit for the sugar plant of OJSC Kaindy-Kant by $ 1.5 million to purchase a diffusion apparatus, which will allow the plant to increase its DC from 3,000 to 3,500 tons of sugar.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to Statkom of Kazakhstan, the wholesale price of sugar in August 2017 decreased by 4.92% and amounted to 232 Tenge/kg (in 2016 - 230 Tenge/kg, in 2015 - 148 Tenge/kg), or RUR 41.71/kg (at the rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation by the middle of the reporting month).

BELARUS

By September 11, 2017, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 8.72 thousand hectares or 8.91% of the sown area (in 2016 - 12.1 thousand hectares), according to the Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus. About 377 thousand tons (in 2016 - 496.3 thousand tons) of beets were collected with at an average yield of 43.24 MT/ha (in 2016 – 41.17 MT/ha). The sugar content in beet makes 15.17% against 16.32% on the same day last year.
