Transit of white sugar by Russian rail to Kazakhstan for 7 months of 2017, Aug 11, 2017

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the total acreage of sugar beet harvested in the country has reached 15.1 thousand hectares or 1.3% of the total crop acreage as August 10, 2017 (in 2016 – 15.3 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 703.5 thousand tons at average yield of 46.53 MT/ha.


The average consumer price for sugar was 48.14 rubles per 1 kg in July 2017, which is 2.99 rubles higher than a month ago, reports Rosstat. In June 2016 the average consumer price for refined sugar was 45.15 rubles per 1 kg.


According to the railway monitoring Sugar.Ru, Kazakhstan has received 32.9 thousand tons of white sugar transit by the Russian railway for 7 months in 2017. The main exporter of sugar to Kazakhstan was Belarus, the main suppliers - Skidelsky and Gorodetsky sugar plants. Thus, total 52.5 thousand tons were delivered by rail in 2016/17 MY (in 2015/16 MY - 93,6 thousand tons).


According to Ukrtsukor, the Agrarian Fund intends to sell sugar from its reserves at the domestic market by the end of September; the shelf life of such sugar has ended on April 15, 2017.
