RUSSIA
The proceeds of GC "Rusagro" from the production of sugar in the first half of 2017 decreased by 4% and amounted to RUR 14.6 billion. Sales of sugar increased by 14% – up to 390.4 thousand tons, the company report stated. In the second quarter, the revenue fell by 23%, to RUR 7.19 billion. The sales volume decreased by 11% – down to 193.9 thousand tons.
UKRAINE
Oktyabr'sky Sugar Factory (Nikolaevka village, Sumy region) will resume its work in August this year after four years of downtime. It is planned to produce more than 40 thousand tons of sugar per season.
KYRGYZSTAN
According to Statkom, the production of sugar in June was 46.1 tons (in 2016 - 18.5 thousand tons). In the first half of 2017, total 32.2 thousand tons were produced (in 2016 - 28.8 thousand tons). The area of sugar beet crops makes 17.5 thousand hectares this season, which is up by 55% compared to beet acreage in 2016. The volume of white sugar imported in January-May, 2017 has made 30.2 thousand tons (in 5 months of 2016 - 10.8 thousand tons).
