RUSSIA
Import of sugar to Russia from non-CIS countries amounted to US$ 19.6 million in June 2017, the Federal Customs Service said. (The figures reported by the FCS are absolutely fantastic, they might cover all imports to the EAEC, or the FCS made a mistake by an order - Sugar.Ru)
According to Rosstat, by the end of May 2017 sugar stocks with large and medium of wholesale traders accounted for 92.1 thousand tons, which is almost identical to the reserves in May 2016 – 91.9 thousand tons. In February 2017, the stocks were 104.7 thousand tons, data for March and April was not published by Rosstat.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, in May 2017 the volume of wholesale sugar sales by large and medium-sized wholesalers amounted to 165.5 thousand tons, which is almost identical to the figures for May 2016 – 162.1 thousand tons. In March 2017 sales amounted to 283.1 thousand tons, whereas data for April was not published by Rosstat
UKRAINE
The average price for white sugar from manufacturers in Ukraine was UAH 12755.36 /MT in June 2017 (RUR 29 343.06/MT at the current rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation). In May the average price was UAH 12 935.93/MT (RUR 29 758.46/MT).
TURKMENISTAN
Turkmen agrarians have completed the sowing of sugar beets which has started in the second half of May, with 17,900 hectares of irrigated areas sown. The first harvest of sugar beet will collected in October. Processing is carried out at local sugar production - Joint Stock Company "Marysheker". Currently, a new enterprise is being built in the west of the country, designed to produce 120,000 tons of sugar a year.
BELARUS
"Belarusbank" will finance the reconstruction of the Gorodeya Sugar Refinery. This year 11 million rubles will be allocated for reconstruction within the framework of the investment project, and 108 million rubles for the purchase of crop production.
KYRGYZSTAN
According to the Statistic Committee, the production of sugar in the country amounted to only 46.1 tons in June 2017 (in June 2016 – 18 523.4 tons).
