The harvest in Krasnodar will not be lower than last year, despite the heavy rains in early summer, Veniamin Kondratiev,the governor of Kuban, said. In general the Ministry of Agriculture forecasts a decrease in the harvest of grain, potatoes and sugar beet in Russia this year in comparison with the previous year due to unfavorable weather conditions.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated June 27, 2017, total 13 vessels have been nominated to carry 462110 mt of raw cane sugar in 2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 265000 mt from 7 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

Prices for sugar increased over the past week in the Ukrainian market, among the reasons - the shipment of sugar for export. At the same time, domestic demand is low, interest of foreign buyers is weakening as well. The wholesale-selling price of sugar increased by 0.65% for the week and was in the range of UAH 15200-15600 / ton (34448.67-35355.21 rubles / ton at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russia); price of granulated beet pulp - UAH 3500-3800 / ton; price of molasses - UAH 2500-2800 / t (5665.9-6345.8 rubles / ton).

Investments in the modernization of the Alexandrian sugar plant will make US$ 1 million in 2017, said Oleg Pokotilo, the plant's production director. According to him, these funds will be used to improve the quality of sugar and energy efficiency of production.
