RUSSIA

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated June 13, 2017, total 9 vessels have been nominated to carry 323910 MT of raw cane sugar in 2017 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 190400 MT from 5 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

KAZAKHSTAN

Spring field campaign is over in the Almaty region, Amandyk Batalov, Akim of the region, said. The acreage of sugar beet last year was 6.4 thousand hectares, this year reached 9 thousand hectares. An average yield of 35 MT from hectare is projected, thus total harvest will make around 300,000 tons of sugar beet and over 30,000 tons of white sugar in 2017.

Diversification of crops in Kazakhstan in 2017 will allow increasing sugar production 1.5 times – from 36,000 to 54,000 tons, Kairat Aytuganov, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the RK, said.

BELARUS

According to Statkom, in May 2017 the consumer prices for refined sugar in the country decreased by 0.38%; since the beginning of the year – by 1.58%. The average consumer price for refined sugar was equal to 1.7 Bel. rub/kg in May (RUR 51.68/kg at the current rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation).

AZERBAIJAN

According to the customs service of Azerbaijan, sugar exports amounted to 11.7 thousand tons in May 2017, in just 5 months of 2017 - 32.6 thousand tons (in 2016 - 35.1 thousand tons). Imports of sugar and raw sugar in May have made 22.7 thousand tons, thus in January-May 2017 – 125.1 thousand tons (in 2016 – 123.1 thousand tons). According to monitoring data by Sugar.Ru for the first 5 months of 2017, Azerbaijan has received total 63 000 tons of raw sugar from two vessels, and 72.6 thousand tons of white sugar (including 59.6 thousand tons from Russia and 13.0 thousand tons from Ukraine and Belarus)

UKRAINE

As of June 9, 2017, the average consumer price of sugar was 16.45 UAH/kg (RUR 35.83/kg at the Central Bank exchange rate for the reporting day), which is 0.49% less than the price on the last observation date, 10 days ago. For the year (since May 30, 2016) sugar has grown in price by 13.75%, for two years (since May 29, 2015) the price of sugar has grown by 11.03%, according to Ukrstat.

The highest prices are observed in the Luhansk region – UAH 17.61/kg, the lowest – in the Sumy region, UAH 15.86/kg.
