The Ministry of Economic Development supported the proposal to tax the beverages with high sugar content, the Russian press reported. Last year, the Ministry of Finance offered to impose the beverages with addition sugar or other sweeteners with an excise tax of RUR 5 per liter.

About 4 thousand hectares of sugar beet were destroyed by frosts in the Kursk region, 3 thousand hectares already reseeded, in the Lipetsk region the company "Trio" reseeded 8% of the beets. According to regional authorities and representatives of the companies, this will not affect the yield. In the Orel region, 1.5 thousand hectares of sugar beet were reseeded.

Ukraine has increased beet sugar exports by 6.6 times in the current season, and entered the world's top 3 exporting countries, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization reported of the UN.
