RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown at an area of 1168.7 thousand hectares or 103.5% of the forecast as of May 25, 2017 (in 2016 – 1.06 thousand hectares).

The auction with the initial price of RUR 346 million for the sale of accounts receivable of the JSC "Girey Kuban sugar" (Krasnodar region), which is in bankruptcy procedure, was declared invalid due to lack of applications.

The Holding AGROSILA has finished sugar beet sowing on the area of 30 thousand hectares.
UKRAINE
"Astarta" holding on its shareholders has approved the proposal for the Board of Directors at the annual meeting on 23 may and refused to pay dividends, re-qualifying the entire net profit for 2016 in the amount of EUR 82.653 million as an undistributed profits.

According to the State Statistics Service, in April 2017 Ukraine has produced 13.2 thousand tons of sugar confectionery (-9.59% against the previous month and -13.73% vs. April 2016). The production of sugar confectionery products amounted to 54.5 thousand tons from the beginning of the year (in 2016 – 55.6 thousand tons).
