According to the Soyuzrossahar, in Russian Federation sugar beet was sown at an area of 869.8 thousand hectares, which is 74.0% of the plan as of May 02, 2017 (in 2016 – 815.5 thousand hectares).

BELARUS
In April 2017, Belarus has delivered 13.7 thousand tons of white sugar by railway in transit the territory of Russia, and 28.1 thousand tons in 4 months of 2017 (in 2016 – 1.9 thousand tons). Largest receivers of the Belarusian sugar were Kazakhstan – 36.9% and Kyrgyzstan – 22.3% from the total transit volume.
