RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the wholesale price of sugar not changed, retail – has decreased by 0.5% in the period January 1 to January 9, 2017.

The State Duma at the session held last Friday, has rejected a bill which proposed to introduce excise duty on potato chips and sweet soda. The bill introduces an excise duty at the level of 12-13 rubles per 100 grams of potato chips and 15-16 rubles per litre of soda with sugar.

KYRGYZSTAN

According to statistic committee of Kyrgyzstan, the consumer prices for sugar in December 2016 decreased by 2.9% from the previous month, and in the annual calculation (December 2016 to December 2015) - an increase of 4.8% was marked.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to rail cargo data by Sugar.Ru, in 2016 Kazakhstan has brought in 65.7 thousand tons of white sugar by rail transit Russia. The largest exporter of sugar to Kazakhstan is Ukraine with 20.8 thousand tons, but the entire amount was delivered before August, after that month the Ukrainian sugar has never arrived in Kazakhstan. Poland with exports of 19.3 thousand tons is a little behind the Ukraine. A quarter of the total transit volume of sugar to Kazakhstan was dispatched from Zaselsky sugar factory (Ukraine)
