RUSSIA
According to Rosstat, the production of refined beet sugar has amounted to 4.6 mln MT in Russia in January-November 2016 and compared to 2015 the increase in production has made 2.9%.

The Moscow Stock Exchange reports that it plans to start trading deliverable forward contracts in 2017, the underlying asset of which will sugar.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated December 20, 2016, total 43 vessels have been nominated to carry 1424650 MT of raw cane sugar in 2016 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1201800 MT from 36 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.
UKRAINE
According to the balance issued by the Economic Discussion Club and dated December 1, 2016, according to preliminary data, the bulk harvest of sugar beet in 2016/2017 MY is 13.2 million tons (+27% compared to last season). Production of beet sugar in September-November 2016/2017 MY has made 1 670 thousand MT (+28% compared to previous season). In the 3 months of current season, the volume of sugar exports has reached 213 000 tons vs. 10 000 MT in the corresponding period last year. The evaluation of the production of sugar that was made in previous month, has increased – up to 1 900 thousand tons total for 2016/2017 season (up by 33% compared to sugar production in 2015/2016 MY).
KAZAKHSTAN
For the first time in the last 20 years farmers in the North-Kazakhstan territory have grown sugar beet. The harvest collected makes 14 000 tons, with an average yield of 35.00 MT/ha, which is higher by 15% than the national average figure, said Deputy Minister of Agriculture.
BELARUS
According to the statistic committee of Belarus, after the 10 months (January-October) of 2016 the total volume of exports of sugar from Belarus to Kyrgyzstan has made 4 751 tons for total value of US$ 2 149 thousand, exports to Russia make 230 300 tons for total US$ 122 575.6 thousand.
