RUSSIA
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was collected from the area 973.0 thousand ha by November 1, 2016 or from 87.6% of the crop area (in 2015 - 914.7 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 44.3 million tons (in 2015 - 34.7 million tons), with the average yield of 45.56 MT/ha (in 2015 – 37.91 MT/ha).

Harvesting sugar beet in Bashkiria is completed, according to the republican Ministry of Agriculture. The volume of sugar beet collected has made 1 329 558 MT total or 150 000 tons higher than in previous season.

Russia may increase exports of sugar 25 times to reach 200 000 tons this season, Alexander Tkachev, the Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation has claimed. Last season the exports amounted to 8000 tons.

"Rusagro" has contracted 4000 MT of white sugar for export at US$ 530/MT (basis EXW, excluding VAT).
KAZAKHSTAN
According to the national statistic committee, the price for sugar from producers has decreased by 3.7% in October 2016. From the beginning of the year the price of sugar from producers has increased by total 18.3%. Consumer prices for sugar decreased by 3.5%, but from the beginning of the year the increase made total 18.1%, and year-on-year (October 2016 to October 2015) - 19.9%.
