RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the wholesale price of sugar from October 18 to October 24 2016 has decreased by 2.9%, retail - by 0.5%.

At the auction on the assignment of rights of "Kubansky Sakhar" (the starting price of the lot – RUR 1,013,738) Deryabin Sergey Ivanovich was recognized a successful bidder with a bid price 20 832 315.90 rubles.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was harvested from the area 924.1 thousand ha (83.2%) by October 28, 2016. Bulk harvest makes 41.8 million MT with the average yield of 45.18 MT/ha.

The Economic Development Ministry expects to reduce sugar beet production by 2.9% in 2017, according to the forecast of socio-economic development of the Russian Federation for 2017-2019 years.

The average consumer price of sugar in September 2016 has amounted to 53.84 rubles per 1 kg, which is 3.53 rubles less than a month ago, according to Rosstat.

The Moscow Arbitration Court, following the application of the Group of Companies "Rusagro" has introduced a monitoring procedure for PJSC "Group "Razguliay" on Friday. The session to regard the bankruptcy case the court has appointed for April 2017.

BELARUS

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, by October 28 the country has harvested 76.5 thousand ha or 81.1% ot the total crop area. The average yield in the Republic is 43.26 MT/ha (in 2015 – 32.16 MT/ha) with the sugar content in beets harvested of around 17.31% (compared to 16.76% in 2015). According to the "Belsahar" report on same date, sugar plants have processed 2 028.5 thousand MT of sugar beet from which they have produced total 302.4 thousand tons of white sugar.

ARMENIA

In September 2016 the import of sugar and raw sugar (HS code 1701) to Armenia was practically non- existent – only 0.38 tons worth US$ 1.6 thousand, according to statistic committee of Armenia. In September Armenia has imported 222 tons of other sugars (HS code 1702) worth US$ 115 thousand; and 773.3 tons of molasses (HS code 1703) for the total value of US$ 135.6 thousand.
