RUSSIA

Foreign Agricultural Service of USDA (FAS USDA) has increased its forecast for sugar beet production in Russia by 5.9 million tons to make 47.9 million tons. In addition, the agency has increased the forecast of sugar production in the season-2016/17 by 5% to a record 5.6 million tons, the assessment of consumption increased from 5.88 million tons to 6.1 million tons.

According to the analytical service of Soyuzrossakhar, the country has produced 2.0 mln MT of beet sugar from current beet crop by October 10. Last year the volume of 2.0 million tons of sugar was produced 2 days earlier.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated October 11, 2016, total 35 vessels have been nominated to carry 1 191 800 MT of raw cane sugar in 2016 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1 027 400 MT from 30 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

UKRAINE

According to the State Statistics Service, prices for sugar from producers increased by 0.1% in September 2016 from the previous month; year on year (September 2016 to September 2015) the increase has made 15.8%.

The Ukrainian producers have exported 39 900 tons of sugar in September 2016, which is the highest monthly figure for the last 5 years, according to "Ukrtsukor".

AZERBAIJAN

Group of Companies “Azersun Holding” plans to hold an initial public offering (IPO) of Imishli sugar factory. It is planned to offer 30-40 percent of factory shares for sale at the London Stock Exchange, Abdolbari Gozel, the chairman of the Supervisory Board of the holding, said.

MOLDOVA

According to the statistic committee of Moldova, the consumer prices for sugar increased by 0.8% in September 2016; year on year increase (September 2016 to September 2015) has made 12.6%.

KYRGYZSTAN

Kaindinsky sugar refinery in Chui has started operation. For the season the plant is scheduled to produce nearly 50 000 tons of sugar, local media reports.

BELARUS

According to the report by statistic committee of Belarus for September 2016, the consumer prices for refined sugar increased by 0.81% in Belarus; from the beginning of the year – by 21.67%. In September 2016 the average consumer price of sugar was 17 235 Bel. rubles per 1 kg (about RUR 56.25/kg at the current rate of the Central Bank of Russia).
