RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture update as of October 3, 2016 sugar beet was harvested from the area of 450 700 hectares, or 40.6% of the crop area. Bulk volume collected makes 19.6 million tons with an average yield of 43.55 MT/ha.

According to the figures by Williams Brasil dated October 4, 2016, total 35 vessels have been nominated to carry 1 191 800 MT of raw cane sugar in 2016 season from Brazilian seaports to the Black/Baltic seaports with end-receivers in CIS, Georgia and Baltic states. As of today, the volume received and unloaded makes 1 027 400 MT from 30 vessels, based on Sugar.ru data.

CUSTOMS UNION

In October 2016 the duty on import of raw sugar to the Customs Union remains at US$ 140/MT and the fee will remain at same US$ 140/MT for imports in November 2016.

UKRAINE

Wholesale price of sugar was in the range of UAH 12 700-12 950/MT (RUR 30 641-31 244/MT) on October 1.

By October 3, 2016 Ukrainian sugar refineries have produced 408.5 thousand tons of sugar; total 34 sugar factories are operating.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the National statistic committee, the price of sugar from producers decreased by 6.4% in September 2016 and from since the beginning of the year increased by 22.9%.

Antimonopoly Department of Zhambyl region claims that it has disclosed sugar price collusion between a number of companies engaged in wholesale sugar trade.
