RUSSIA
The production of sugar beet seed is planned to expand successfully in Orel region, according to the regional administration. "Dubovitskoe" LLC intends to manufacture at least 80 tons of seed of hybrids of domestic breeding of sugar beet annually, which will be sufficient to sow up to 40 thousand hectares with sugar beet. Scientific support of the project is carried out by VNIISS after Mazlumov. In 2016 "Dubovitskoe" LLC has produced 33.5 tons of sugar beet seeds.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, as of September 30, 2016 sugar beet was harvested from the area of 410 800 ha or 37% of the crop acreage (in 2015 - 455.6 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 17.7 million tons (in 2015 - 17.2 million tons); the average yield is 43.12 MT/ha (in 2015 – 37.79 MT/ha).

Voronezh region harvested sugar beet from the area of 38 thousand hectares. Sugar factories have accepted 1 400 thousand tons of sugar beet including 1.2 mln MT processed; beet sugar manufacture volume has made 166 thousand tons. The production yield of sugar is 14.08% region average (higher that the average in Russian Federation - 12.8%).
KAZAKHSTAN
According statistic committee of Kazakhstan, the consumer prices for sugar decreased by 5.9% in September 2016, from the beginning of the year consumer prices for sugar increased by 22.4%, while year-on- year (September 2016 to September 2015) the growth has made 35.8%.
BELARUS
By October 3, 2016, sugar beet was harvested from an area of 39,500 hectares or 41.7% of the crop area (in 2015 – 40 700 hectares), according to Ministry of Agriculture of Belarus. Bulk volume collected makes 1,603,800 MT (in 2015 – 1.1363 million tons) of beets, with yields of 40.64 MT/ha (in 2015 – 27.93 MT/ha). Sugar content in beet makes 17.01% against 17.23% on the same day last year.
UKRAINE
The 33 sugar factories operating in Ukraine have received total 3 001 600 tons of sugar beet from the start of the season and by September 30, 2016. The volume of refined sugar produced makes 335,900 tons, according to "Ukrtsukor".
