RUSSIA

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was harvested from the area 330.4 thousand ha or 29.8% of the crop area by September 23, 2016 (in 2015 – 360.4 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 14.4 million MT with the average yield of 43.47 MT/ha.

According to Rosstat, the sugar stocks with the wholesale trade decreased to 49 181.6 tons in July 2016 (–45.86% from the previous month;–72.09% for 12 months and –50.92% YTD). This is the minimum volume of sugar in stock for the whole period of observation since 2009. The previous low was marked in 2010 – 136.4 thousand tons.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the analysis of data by Kazakhstan statcom, the production of sugar and molasses increased by 5.5 times in August 2016 and amounted to 48 693 tons (in 2015 – 8 831 tons). From the beginning of 2016 the production volume has made 311,841 tons of sugar and molasses.

BELARUS

According to the analysis of data of Belarusian FCS, the national sugar exports are slightly behind the previous year - 222 thousand tons in the past 7 months (January - July 2016) or 94.8% compared to the same period of the previous year. Export of confectionery has dropped by 12.7% compared with 2015, but export of water with sugar has increased by 28% to reach 39.4 million litres. Import of raw cane sugar has increased significantly and by the results of 7 months of operations has made 257 thousand tons, which is up by 55% compared to 2015.
