RUSSIA
Russian consumer prices for sugar decreased by 1.6% from September 6 to 12. From the beginning of September 2016 the consumer prices for sugar have decreased by 2.3%, and from the beginning of the year (vs. the end of December 2015) - increased by 7.9%.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture data as of September 14, sugar beet was harvested from the area of 219.4 thousand ha or 19.8% of the crop acreage (in 2015 – 236.2 thousand ha)). Bulk harvest makes 9.6 million tons (in 2015 - 9.1 million tons); the average yield makes 43.80 mt / ha (in 2015 – 38.57 mt / ha).

According to the data of price monitoring by Sugar.ru for the period September 08-15; the US dollar exchange rate increased by 0.9% (on Sept 08 – RUR 64.38/$; on Sept 15 – RUR 64.97/$). Moscow ruble price of sugar fell by 1.70 RUR/kg (-4.27%), Krasnodar price decreased by 2.50 RUR/kg (-6.76%). US dollar equivalent price of sugar fell by $ 0.032/kg (-5.18%) in Moscow and by $ 0.044/kg (-7.65%) in Krasnodar.
Prices continue to fall to crush the support level of RUR 35/kg. RusAgro is offering sugar at the price of 34.5 RUR/kg from factories in Central Russia basis railcar with shipment in 2 weeks (Krasnodar) or at 34.7-34.9 RUR/kg ex-warehouses. The remaining companies did not fall below RUR 36/kg, and even below higher levels, thus a number of vendors stopped trading in order "to clarify the situation", It is quite possible that they may be able to stabilize the prices. One also needs to take into account the pressure of the regional administrations, demanding to buy beet at high prices, despite the fact that beet price is based on current prices for sugar. A serious difference in the price of sugar from Rusagro and other market participants means that today sugar is not selling well even at the price of RUR 35/kg, otherwise it would not make sense to drop prices so low. It will be clear in the coming days whether the active sales by 34,5 RUR/kg would occur widely. The lack of sales can be affected by two factors: the buyers have purchased sugar during the last short-term increase, waiting for further growth, and today they stay in "expensive" sugar, or, looking at falling prices, just wait for what will happen next. Such a low price of sugar makes it profitable to export to foreign markets, so Rusagro began to export sugar in containers through Novorossiysk, but today the volume of these shipments is too small to influence the market.
BELARUS
According to the Ministry of Agriculture of Republic, by September 15 2016 sugar beet has been cleaned from the area of 16.4 thousand hectares or17.3% of the crop acreage (in 2015 – 13.5 thousand ha). Bulk harvest makes 672.5 thousand tons of beets (in 2015 – 353.1 thousand tons), with yields of 40.94 mt / ha (in 2015 – 26.23 mt / ha). Sucrose content is 16.45% (17.65% on September 15, 2015). Total acreage to be harvested in 2016 makes 94.8 thousand hectares.
UKRAINE
Ukraine has produced 93.8 thousand tons of sugar by September 14, according to "Ukrtsukor". From the beginning of the season the volume of sugar beet processed has reached 736.3 thousand tons. Daily processing rate is 81.6 thousand tons of sugar beet and production volume is 11.6 thousand tons of sugar.

As of 1 September 2016 sugar beet production has made 137.5 thousand tons (725% increase over the same date in 2015), according to state service statistics.
