RUSSIA

At the auction for sale of property of "BelSahar" the bidder "SUGAR MILL KONYOK-GORBUNOK” LLC was recognized the winner with closing price RUR 478.7 million.

Penza region has started harvesting sugar beet. The average yields right now are 8.0 MT per hectare better compared to previous season.

By September 12, farmers in Belgorod region harvested sugar beet from 8 593 hectares (11% of the total crop acreage). At an average yield of 45.1 MT/ha, the bulk volume collected makes 387 203 tons.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture report dated September 9, 2016, sugar beet was harvested from 163,1 thousand ha or 14.7% of the crop acreage (in 2015 - 162,7 thousand hectares). Bulk harvest makes 7.2 million tons (in 2015 - 6.4 million tons); the average yield 44.33 MT/ha (in 2015 – 39.07 MT/ha).

According Soyuzrossakhar’ figures dated September 5, 2016, there are 57 plants processing sugar beet in Russia. From the end of July 2016 the volume processed makes 4 802.6 thousand tons sugar beet (10.8% more vs. last year); 570 600 tons of refined sugar produced (0.3% below the level of the previous year).

UKRAINE

By September 9 the country has produced 45,3 thousand MT of sugar. From the beginning of the season 381,1 thousand MT of sugar beet were processed.

Agricultural enterprises sold the sugar at an average of UAH 11,099.8/MT excl. VAT in July (37.6% higher than in July 2015). In June the farmers sold sugar at an average of UAH 11,036.6/MT.

According to the "Ukrtsukor", the country has exported 32.9 thousand tons of sugar in August 2016 (up by 17.9% vs. July). The main deliveries were carried out to Georgia (6.9 thousand tons, or 21%), Sri Lanka (6.3 thousand tons, 19%), Azerbaijan (4.9 thousand tons, 15%), Myanmar (4.9 thousand tons, 15%) and Kyrgyzstan (1.9 thousand tons, 5.9%). In the previous month, the major export volumes went to Georgia (35%), Israel (11%), Tajikistan (11%), Sri Lanka (9%), Albania (9%) and Azerbaijan (6%).

MOLDOVA

Consumer prices for sugar increased by 0.5% in August from the previous month. Compared to the beginning of the year (end of December 2015.) the prices increased by 5.6%; and by 16.1 % year on year (August 2016 vs. August 2015).

KYRGYZSTAN

Consumer prices for sugar increased by 2.8% in August 2016 compared to July. From the beginning of 2016 the price has decreased by 0.6%, and in year-on- year terms (compared to August 2015.) - increased by 6.8%.
