RUSSIA

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture in its update as of September 01, 2016 reports, sugar beet was harvested from the area of 95 700 ha, or 8.6% of the crop acreage.

The LTD "Sugar refinery "Konyok-Gorbunok" from the Kursk region, have bought for RUR478 million the property of the LTD "BelSahar" plant (owned by the bankrupt Kazakh-Russian holding "Ivolga").

According to the analysis of the FCS customs declarations, Russia exported 25.1 thousand MT of molasses to countries outside the Customs Union in July 2016. By the end of 7 months, the export of molasses from Russia has amounted to 200.5 thousand tons (in 2015 – 122.2 thousand tons, in 2014 – 366.7 thousand tons).

CUSTOMS UNION

The import duty for raw sugar shipments to the Customs Union stayed at US$ 140/ton for September 2016. The average monthly price for raw sugar on the stock exchange «The ICE» was US$441.10/t in August. In October 2016 the fee will remain at same level US$ 140/ton.

BELARUS

According to the "Belsakhar" Association, all sugar refineries of Belarus on Sept 1 have started sugar beet receiving and processing. As of the morning of Sept 2, from the new harvest was produced about 5 thousand tons of white sugar.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the National statistic committee of Kazakhstan, domestic sugar prices from manufacturers have grown by 6.1% in August 2016; while from the beginning of the year the price of sugar from producers has added 31.3%.

UKRAINE

Ukraine has produced 8.6 thousand tons of sugar from the beginning of the season and as of September 1, 2016, according to “Ukrtsukor”.
