RUSSIA

According to the figures dated August 9, 2016 and issued by the Ministry of Agriculture of Russia, Orel and Krasnodar regions have harvested 13,500 ha or 1.2% of the total beet acreage (in 2015 the progress was 800 ha). The harvest collected makes 615 600 MT (in 2015 – 34.5 thousand tons) with the average yields of 45.57 MT/ha (in 2015 – 43.13 MT/ha).

Agriculture Ministry has abolished the Department on regulation of food market, food processing industry, and has set up two independent departments instead: the Department of Agribusiness markets regulation, which is headed by Mr Vladimir Volik, and the Department of Food and Processing Industry, whose director is Mr Eugene Akhpashev.

MOLDOVA

According to the National Bureau of Statistics, consumer prices for sugar increased by 1.4% in July 2016; from the beginning of the year - by 5.2%, while year-on- year (July 2016 to July 2015) - by 19.4%. In July 2016 the average consumer price of sugar was 16 105 Bel. rubles per 1 kg. (RUR 53.55/kg at the current rate of the CBR).

BELARUS

According to the National Statistics Bureau, consumer prices for refined sugar increased by 0.84% in July 2016; and since the beginning of the year (to December 2015) - by 14.7%.

KYRGYZSTAN

According to railway monitoring data by Sugar.Ru, Kyrgyzstan has received 7 000 tons of white sugar (in 7 months of 2015 - 64.5 thousand tons) by rail transit Russia in January-July 2016. Transit of Ukrainian sugar fell significantly, when only 3.5 thousand tons were delivered in 2016 whereas in 7 months of 2015 the volume supplied was 20 200 tons. Nevertheless, Ukraine maintains its leadership by volume of sugar supply to Kyrgyzstan – 50% of all deliveries.
