RUSSIA
In the period July 12 to 18, 2016, consumer prices for sugar increased by 0.7%, from the beginning of the year - by 6.3%, according to Rosstat.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, a drop of 27.7% in production of sugar was recorded in January-May 2016 compared to 2015. The volume of white sugar import increased (18.2%), and import of raw sugar decreased (2.1 times) in comparison to January-May 2015..

According to the data of price monitoring by Sugar.ru in the period July 14 – 21, 2016, the US dollar value continued to fall, and dropped by 0.7% (in July 14 – RUR 63.85 and on July 21 RUR 63.42 per US$ 1). Moscow RUR price of sugar increased by RUR 1.00 / kg (+ 2.09%), in Krasnodar – same RUR 1.00/kg (+ 2.15%). US dollar equivalent price of sugar in Moscow added $0.021/kg (+ 2.80%), in Krasnodar price grew by $0.021/kg (+2.88%).
UKRAINE
The State Institution "Agrarian Fund" estimates losses of the Ukrainian state at US$ 500 million the case the 67 000 MT of sugar, with prolonged validity period up to October 1 2016, are not sold. Acting Director General of the Fund, O.Lipovoy, has denied reports by the head of the association "Ukrtsukor" that the Agrarian Fund interventions landslides prices in the retail market and destroy the sugar industry in Ukraine.
KAZAKHSTAN
Shortage of sugar rallies in Kazakhstan, according to local press. The retail chains have introduced restrictions on the sale volume per capita. Unlimited volumes of sugar are offered at 320 Tenge/kg.

Manufacturers claim that the growth is directly related to the cost of world raw sugar. Export of Kazakhstan made sugar in January-May to the neighbouring Russia and China has increased almost twice, and is driven by the devaluation of the local currency.
