RUSSIA

"Rusagro" has published operational results for the 6 months of 2016 and the 2nd quarter of 2016. In the first half of 2016 the revenue has increased by 18% compared to the same period last year, to reach RUR 39 billion. Revenue from sugar division has increased by 6% to make RUR 15.2 billion. Revenue from sugar division for the 2nd quarter of 2016 has decreased by 1% compared to the 2nd quarter of 2015 from RUR 9.5 billion to RUR 9.4 billion.

UKRAINE

Ukraine is capable to fully meet the domestic demand for sugar in the next season, according to Agriculture Ministry, which predicts production of 1.7 mln MT of sugar in the 2016/2017 marketing year against the projected domestic demand at the level of 1.6 mln MT.

According to "Ukrtsukor", during the week the minimal prices for sugar fell by 0.8%; the maximal prices decreased by 0.79%. As of July 19 the sugar mills offer sugar at wholesale price of UAH 12.50-13.00/kg (RUR 31.78-33.05/kg at the current rate of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation).

"Astarta-Kyiv" plans to export not less than 50-70 thousand MT of sugar in 2016, according to ASTARTA CEO Viktor Ivanchyk.

KAZAKHSTAN

According to the Ministry of Economy, growing sugar prices (by the way the Ministry of Economy estimates the growth at 10% of the national average) are justified by: a significant growth of imported raw sugar price, from which the white sugar is produced locally; suspension of operation for renovation of the two out of three sugar factories; export sugar to Russia, where the commodity price is 100 Tenge higher than in Kazakhstan.
