RUSSIA
Eletsky sugar factory ("Agrosnabsahar" LLC, Lipetsk region) will start in September this year. As part of the reconstruction the processing capacity of the plant has increased from 5.500 to 10,000 tons of sugar beet daily.

In June 2016 the consumer prices for sugar in Russia increased by 2.4% and from the beginning of the year – by 3.6%, according to Rosstat.
UKRAINE
According to the figures by State Fiscal Service, in 6 months (January – June) of 2016 the national sugar imports (HS code 1701) made total value of US$ 19,041,000; imports of other sugars (HS code 1702) – US$ 4,748,000. Exports of sugar has brought US$ 30,299,000; exports of other sugars – US$ 2,251,000.

The Committee on Agrarian Policy and Land Relations supported the bill on the abolition of quotas for sugar production by majority of votes.
