RUSSIA

"Primorsky sugar" company (town of Ussuriysk, Russian Far East) plans to give up processing of imported cane in favour of domestic beet and put much hope for state support in the implementation of the project, the general director of "Primorsky sugar" Vladimir Lukyanov has announced.

Russian consumer prices for sugar have increased by 1.1% in the period June 21 to 27, 2016, thus, from the beginning of the year the growth has made 3.7%, according to Rosstat.

According to the regional price monitoring data by Sugar.ru in the period June 23 – 30, 2016, the US dollar exchange rate increased by 0.9% (on June 23 US$ 1=RUR 63.72; on June 30 US$ 1=RUR 64.26). Moscow RUR price of sugar rose by RUR 1.00/kg (+2.09%), in Krasnodar price increased by RUR 0.70/kg (+1.51%), other regions show growing prices as well. US dollar Moscow price rose by US$ 0.009/kg (+1.20%), in Krasnodar the growth made US$ 0.004/kg (+0.55%).

UKRAINE

According to "Ukrtsukor", on June 29, 2016 sugar mills offer sugar at wholesale price of 12,40-12,90 UAH / kg (RUR 32,29-33,59/kg at the current rate), which is 2% higher than last week.

ARMENIA

Armenia has imported 15 thousand MT of sugar and raw sugar (HS code 1701) for the total value of US$ 5984 thousand in May 2016; 64 tons of other sugars (HS code 1702) valued at US$ 40 thousand; and 715.4 tons of molasses (HS code 1703) for the total value of US$ 125.2 thousand, according to Armenia Statistics Committe.
