RUSSIA

According to the rail cargo monitoring data by Sugar.Ru for January – May 2016, Russia has imported 123.5 thousand tons of white sugar by rail, 99% of which was supplied from Belarus. The largest supplier of sugar to Russia is Gorodeya (33%) and Slutsk sugar plants (25%).

KYRGYZSTAN

Four railcars (270 tons) with white sugar arrived from the Ukraine to the Kyrgyz Republic in May 2016 duty free. Kyrgyzstan has not yet been brought into conformity the national obligations of commitments with those in EAEC regarding withdrawal sugar commodities from the free trade regime between Ukraine and EAEC.

The average retail price of sugar has made 50-52 soms per 1 kg (RUR 46,7-48,6/kg at the current rate of CBR) in the markets of Bishkek from June 2 to June 9, 2016; compared to the previous week, the average retail prices remained unchanged, the Economic Development Ministry reported.

UKRAINE

During the first five months of 2016 the national sugar exports have declined significantly, according to Ukrainian media. In 2016 the export shipments decreased by 37% by volume. During January-May 2016 Ukrainian companies exported sugar for total US$ 23 375 000, which is 19% less than the same period last year (US$ 28.887 million), according to "Ukrtsukor". The main market for Ukrainian sugar is Romania, which was supplied with 44.15% of total exports in the reported period. In May deliveries to this country have ceased as the export quota for deliveries to the European Union has exhausted.

According to the State Service statistics, the price for sugar from producers has decreased by 1.3% in May 2016; from the beginning of the year – by 3.3%, while year-on- year (May 2016 to May 2015) prices increased by 28%.

MOLDOVA

In May of 2016 the consumer prices for sugar has increased by 0.6%; from the beginning of the year – by 3.1%, according to Statistic Committee of Moldova.

KAZAKHSTAN

The country has planted 11.7 thousand hectares with sugar beet (94.4% of the plan) by June 10, 2016, according to the Ministry of Agriculture.
