RUSSIA

Administration of Altay Territory has suggested the group of companies "Dominant" to implement project on yeast production realized on the basis of "Cheremnovsky sugar factory".

The operation of “Sergach sugar factory”, that until recently was on the verge of closing, has revived. The employees of the company were paid the debt for downtime, reports the Prosecutor's office in Nizhny Novgorod region.

On June 6th group "Rusagro" has filed a lawsuit on bankruptcy of agricultural holding "Razguliay". CEO and co-owner of "Rusagro" Maxim Basov said that the decision to claim the bankruptcy of the company is driven by the fact that "Razguliay" unable to pay the entire debt to "Rusagro".

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown on an area of 1,068,200 hectares by June 7, 2016, or 101.4% of the forecast (in 2015 - 1,012,000 ha).

 

UKRAINE

As of June 7 2016, sugar mills sell sugar at wholesale price of 12.35-12.70 UAH/kg (RUR 32,25-33,17/kg at the current rate of the CBR). On May 31 the prices were in the range 12.70-13.00 UAH/kg. (RUR 33.17-33.95/kg), reports "Ukrtsukor".

In 2016 season all 6 sugar refineries in the Vinnitsa region of Ukraine will be put into operation, the first deputy head of the regional administration Andrei Gizhko has announced.

According to the Fiscal Service report for 5 months (January - May) 2016, sugar exports (HS Code 1701) reached US$ 23 374 thousand, solely in May - US$ 5 350 thousand. The main receiver of Ukrainian sugar is Romania (44%). Export of other sugars (HS code 1702) has made US$ 1 700 thousand (in May only - US$ 371 thousand). Molasses (HS code 1703) exports have brought US$ 1 584 thousand; in the in the month of May - US$ 15 thousand (76% of the volume gone to the US).
