RUSSIA

According Soyuzrossakhar, sugar beet was sown on an area of 949 600 hectares (85.8% to plan)as of May 10, 2016.

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown on an area of 924 600 hectares or 87.2% of the forecast as of May 10, 2016.

"Ak Bars" holding company have sold the Sergach Sugar Plant (in Nizhny Novgorod region) to "Agrofirma "Vesna" LLC.

 

UKRAINE

According to Statistics Committee, in January-March 2016, the total volume of sales of domestically produced sugar amounted to – UAH 1393.3 million (excluding VAT and excise tax) in Ukraine (excluding Crimea and Sevastopol), including volume of trade outside the country – UAH 86.3 million.

Ukrainian agricultural enterprises (excluding those in the Crimea and Sevastopol) have been trading sugar at an average of UAH 11 340.1/ton without VAT (RUR 29 847.71/ton at the current rate of the Russian Central Bank) in March 2016 (+53.7% compared to March 2015), according to the State Statistics Service.

KYRGYZSTAN

As of May 6, sugar beet have planted on an area of 10 600 hectares in Kyrgyzstan. The planned program has been fully implemented, reports The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

According to The Ministry of Economy, in Bishkek the average retail price for sugar have made KGS 50-53/kg in the period April 28 to May 7, 2016; compared to last week the average retail prices remained unchanged.

BELARUS

Farmers in Belarus have planted 95 900 hectares with sugar beet (which makes 100.6% of the plan) by May 11, 2016, reports The Ministry of Agriculture and Food.
