RUSSIA

According to Rosstat, the production of sugar in March 2016 has increased to 52,192 tons (+87% compared to February).

By April 26, 2016 Russia has sown 68% of the planned acreage of sugar beet, or 720,000 hectares, according to ICAR. This makes 75% or exceeds previous year by 308 000 hectares. Thus, the total beet acreage may be higher than the figures of planned by MOA (1.06 million hectares), and may even exceed the 1.1 million hectares.

According Soyuzrossakhar, sugar beet was sown on an area of 723,500 hectares as of April 26, which makes 65.2% of the projected acreage crop (in 2015 on same date the progress was 584,500 hectares).

According to the Agriculture Ministry, the wholesale price of sugar increased by 0.8%, retail price – decreased by 0.4% from April 12 to 18. 2016.

 

UKRAINE

Farmers in Ternopol region have completed sowing sugar beet on the area of 18,5 thousand hectares (up by 30% from 2015).

BELARUS

The Belarus stocks of sugar made 153.1 thousand tons on 1 April 2016, which is 0.7% less than it was as of March 1, 2016, according to RB STATCOM.
