RUSSIA
According Soyuzrossakhar data of April 19, 2016, farmers have planted 594.6 thousand hectares with sugar beet (54.5% of forecast). The sowing continues in the South, North-Caucasian, Central and Volga federal districts. Stavropol region has completed sowing campaign. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, sugar beet was sown on an area of 593.5 thousand hectares (56%) by April 19.

UKRAINE
According to the forecast by “UkrAgroConsult”, the total acreage of sugar beet in Ukraine is expected to slightly increase. This will happen due to the global shortage of sugar and low carryover stocks of sugar in Ukraine. According to the latest official data, the acreage of sugar beet in the Ukraine is still at the level of previous year.
