RUSSIA

According Soyuzrossakhar, the Russian Federation has seeded 299,400 hectares with sugar beet (or 27.4% of planned acreage) by April 12, 2016.

The Russian Ministry of Agriculture in its report dated April 12, 2016, says that sugar beet was sown on an area of 291 700 ha or 27.5% of the forecast (in 2015 180.9 thousand hectares by same date).

 

UKRAINE

Sugar beet was sown on an area of 216,000 hectares (81% of the forecast) in Ukraine by April 12, according to Ministry of Agrarian Policy.

MOLDOVA

The draft fiscal policy for 2016, which provides increase of VAT for agricultural production, will significantly increase the tax burden on farmers and lead to a loss of industry of sugar beet manufacture in the country, the Union of associations of agricultural producers in Moldova believes.

KYRGYZSTAN

According to the Statistics Committee of Kyrgyzstan, consumer prices for sugar decreased by 0.8% in March 2016, thus, from the beginning of 2016 the average decrease makes 0.6%.
